San Sebastian sees an influx of visitors all year round and from all over the world. Many European visitors travel over land to spend summer holidays in the warmer countries. San Sebastian also offers an inviting combination of Contemporary districts, a historical quarter and traditional elements such as the classic fisherman’s houses. Not to mention some stunning beaches such as Zurriola, Ondarreta and La Concha.

San Sebastian offers everything you would expect in a cosmopolitan bustling city but it does this at a laid back relaxed pace giving you the best of both worlds. Ultimate relaxation comes at the Playa de la Concha this beach looks out into the sparkling Bay of Biscay and is surrounded by the famous rolling green hills. At night time the beach is a hive of activity with local restaurants serving excellent sea food cuisine as your eye follows the twinkling lights you can’t help to notice the large statue of Jesus who stands high towering over the town. This is a great location to drive back to in the evening and enjoy a good meal and lengthy wander along the promenade.

As well as the world class beaches at San Sebastian the Old Town offers much to keep any culture vultures entertained. The old town is literally bursting with cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants. Be sure to visit the baroque church of Santa Maria, the Gothic church of San Vicente. There are also some fantastic museums but make sure you visit the Museo de San Telemo housed in a former convent of the 16th century the building is worth exploring as much as the art works housed inside it.

Miramar Palace is known locally as the Royal Country House of Miramar, it’s found just above the Pico del Loro and well worth a visit for the breath taking views and a taste of how the wealthy visitors lived. At the very heart of San Sebastian is Constitution Square, this space used to be used for bull fighting and spectators would hire rooms with balconies to get the very best views of the bull fighting.
