On Sunday 4 March 2012, Xaló holds its I Slaughter and Traditional Sausages Making Fair.
At the fair, visitors are more than welcome to taste traditional products, regional wines, a typical brunch with Dulzaina and Tabalet traditional music on the background, music shows, a traditional sausage making exhibition and the first “Figaltella” of Spain (feast of patty-like sausages). The event will take place al morning long at Alameda Boulevard in Xalò, facing the street market area and the Bodegas from 10:00 h to 14:00 h.
Xaló’s First Slaughter and Traditional Sausage Making Fair activities schedule:
09:30h. Opening.
10:00 h: Quartering of pork.
10:30-11:30h. Traditional brunch of slaughter samplers and tastings: 1 EUR per item.
11:30h. Exhibition of traditional sausage making.
12:00 h: End of the tasting session and First Spain’s “Figatellá” (a sort of patty-shaped sausage), 1 EUR per item.
If weather allows (and we are sure it will), it is going to be a great opportunity to go out and discover the food, traditions and hospitable attitude of this Marina Alta region town.
